Alas, the beautiful sequel. I have read that a lot of the SH fans think this game is the weak link of all 4. Yet I've also read that the other half of those fans think this game is the best one of them all........ and I happen to be one of those people.

Now as I mentioned before in the first Silent Hill section, I actually completed this game first. I also stated that because of the game play from the first game, I got bored easily. . . Not this one.

The minute I saw a friend of mine playing this one I was hooked. I could not wait to start playing it for myself. And the second I finally got to start playing that second I was hooked. I LOVE THIS GAME!

This time around SH was on the newest platform, for me it was the PS2. So not only was I instantly hooked, the graphics were that much more amazing. Which in turn made the gameplay better than the first. Now I do have to admit tho that the controls still weren't up to par, or as good as they could be.

But I was so hooked and so excited that the controls just didn't matter to me. I was definitely enjoying this game from the 'get-go'!!


Let's start from the beginning. You're this guy, James. You're standing all alone in an old, dirty restroom facing a mirror. Right off the bat, we get to see how much better the graphics are in our new venture.

He starts going on about receiving a letter from his wife, who's been dead for 3 years. And it just so happens that she's there, in Silent Hill waiting for you, in their special place. Ok, so new platform, better graphics, better controls (a little bit anyways) and a story that has got me wanting to know more. This has got to be my all time favorite game!

So in all actuality this game is what started my addiction or better yet, my infatuation for the Survival/Horror genre. Don't get me wrong, I've played my fair share of other types of 'scary' games, namely the Resident Evil series. But they have NOTHING on the type of survival horror enjoyment you'll get from the SH series. But maybe that's just me!

Maybe some people can only stand getting the 'pop-up' scares that they'll get from other games. Although I did thoroughly enjoy the RE series, I prefer this type of scare. The psychotic, demented and mentally damaging type of scare. That's what this game brought to me and that's what it will bring to you.

Imagine yourself in the shoes of a person who lost someone so close and so very dear to that person, someone you loved so much. They meant more to you than the world. You lost them to an incurable, horrible disease that left you alone for the past 3 years.

For those 3 years, you're trying to move on in life but find it hard because that's all you can think about.... that special someone you loved more than life itself and they left you in the worst of ways, through death.

Now imagine you receive a letter from that person. Asking you to return to that 'special place', the one place on earth that made you both completely happy. You decide to go to that special place, looking for your lost love. When you arrive, still in a state of shock and confusion, you realize something. This town, this place isn't what you remember!? That's because it's not.........   

If searching for your lost daughter in Silent Hill wasn't enough, I dare you to take a chance at venturing through the sequel. Only this time you're searching for your dead wife, in a town made up of nothing more than your worst dreams and you're most terrifying nightmares...... come to life!!

Silent Hill 2 the long awaited sequel to one of the most brilliantly made Survival/Horror franchises out, is waiting for your return. Well, what are you waiting for??
